Lou Mika, formerly of Tarrytown, died at his home in
Wilbraham, MA July 23. He was 83. He was predeceased by his wife Marion. He is survived by his sons Rick and Gary, his grandchildren
and great grandchild. Lou joined the U.S. Navy Sea Bees upon graduation from W. Springfield H.S.
(MA) and served in the Pacific during WWII. After the war he continued his education first at Worchester Academy and then
graduating from Springfield College. He began his career as a Phys. Ed. teacher and football coach in Newport, Vermont. He
then returned to Worchester Academy before becoming head coach at Hastings H.S. in the 1950's. He
retired in 1980 after a long career in the Chappaqua School District, teaching at R.E. Bell M.S. and coaching at Horace Greeley
H.S.Lou was also active in the Tarrytown Community as Manager of the Tarry Crest Swim Club, Commissioner of the Recreation
Department and President of the Kiwanis Club. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Holyoke
