Martin Miedzowicz  - Program Director

Overall tennis program is directed by Martin Miedzowicz. 2022 is Martin 6th year directing the tennis program at Tarrycrest Swim and Tennis. 

Native of Montevideo, Uruguay, was ranked among the top players in both Uruguay and South America. Martin played several professional tournaments before coming to New York in early 2010.  Martin began his coaching career as a Tennis Professional in Westchester while he began his undergraduate at Concordia College. Throughout his 12 of experience as a Tennis Professional in the United States he became a remarkable tennis coach changing significantly the tennis experience of both juniors and adult players.

Jose (Pepe) Nunez Navarro - Head Tennis Professional 

Pepe is an enthusiastic, high energy, creative, and dependable former Division 1 Athlete for Old Dominion University Men’s Tennis Team and Newberry College graduate. He has ranked in the top-50 nationally in singles and doubles and was highly ranked in Spain.

• Worked as a college coach and private club professional for 7+ years. 
• Coached at Soto tennis academy in Spain developing players from all over the world to pursue their professional career. 
  

• Taught at the Shore and Country Club in Connecticut leading and managing a Junior program with over 100 players. 
• Assisted the Old Dominion University Men Tennis team for the past three years. During these years the team reached an all-time high ranking of #18 in the nation.
• Helped some of the best college players in the country reach their potential and achieve their tennis goals. 

This will be Pepe’s 3rd season at Tarrycrest. His coaching experience and knowledge make Pepe one of the busiest coach at the club. 

Santiago Kearney (Torito) - Tennis Professional 

• Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Santi is graduating with a Major in Sports Administration from Ouchita Baptist University. 
• Competing at a top DII NCAA team in the nation with an outstanding 2022 record
• Currently ranked top-25 in singles and top-20 in doubles. 
• Santi's college tennis career will continue at University of West Florida where he will also pursue his Graduate degree. 

2022 will be Santi’s second year teaching at Tarrycrest. 

Tao Castillo Bernal (Tao) - Tennis Professional 

• Born and raised in Spain Tao started playing tennis at the age of 6. 
• Became a top junior player in Spain ranked top-25 in the nation. 
• Currently graduating from Georgia Southern University where he played tennis and studied Business.
• Became the player with the best tennis record in GSU history with 20 victories and only 3 defeats. 
• Will continue his academic and coaching tennis career at Saint Leo, Tampa where he will be the Assistant Tennis Coach and will start his MBA. 
• Tao has been teaching tennis since he was 18. He started teaching tennis in Spain. 
• During the Summer of 2020 he worked as a Tennis Coach in Miami at the Flamingo Club. 

This will be Tao’s second season working at Tarrycrest.

Lucia (Lu) - Admin Manager

• Born in Montevideo, Uruguay.
• Lucia has been managing and leading the overall program organization amongst both members and staff. 
• Started working full time in April 2020. 
• Lucia works part time from Uruguay during the off season but during the peak season (May-Sep) comes to NY to fully collaborate with the program needs.
